In in a rather grievous start to the new month, Kenyans on Saturday morning woke up to the sad news that renowned sociologist and respected Don at the University of Nairobi, Dr. Ken Ouko, breathed his last in the wee hours of Friday night.
The experienced lecturer is said to have succumbed to COVID-19 related symptoms whilst receiving treatment from a hospital within the city.
From images now circulating on social media, the virus seems to have overwhelmed Dr. Ouko in his last days as he is pictured looking extremely weak and on full oxygen support.
As a distinguished relationship and marriage consultant, Dr. Ouko often made appearances on local media as his professional opinion was widely sought by journalists seeking to explain existing and emerging social issues.
In one particular viral take, Dr. Ken Ouko in 2013 argued that commercial sex was good for Kenya’s economic development, adding that commercial sex carries more economic advantages than disadvantages.
Netizens have mourned Dr. Ouko as a committed educator, praising his eloquence and overall positive personality.
