Kenya, a unique country run by socialite bimbos and semi-illiterate politicians has been avoided like a plague in Jack Dorey’s choice to set up a headquarters in Africa.

Long touted as a silicon savanna for such stolen innovation as MPESA. The choice of Ghana by Twitter hurts the most hardworking Tech minds in the continent; Kenyan Youths.

But we saw this coming. Twitter chose

In April 2017, this site exposed the reason Twitter Kenya account was shut down.

Yes, for those who are new to Twitter, Twitter had an account @Twitter_Kenya, the boss of Twitter Kenya was Bindiya Shah.

Ms Bindiya Shah would collude with struggling media houses like NTV Kenya to cook numbers so as to shore up hashtags of lame shows. Twitter discovered this and shut down.

It was always impossible to knock off NTV’s #NTVWild from the charts once Smriti Vidyarthi started the show.

Twitter Kenyan Opened their Account on 2nd February 2015, and according to a Tweet they made on the same day, The microblogging site promised to be a source of news, updates, and Tips. But did they really live up to what they promised?

Bindiya Shah hates publicity and despite holding such a Powerful Position, Told Twitter not to verify her account because she knew the fraud she was engaging in. Many people also complained about being blocked by her for giving suggestions or criticizing some things she held dear.

During her reign of terror, Hashtags critical of government started vanishing from Twitter. But some lame and con hashtags prospered e.g. #KenyansForKenya and #BringZackHome Scams. Kenyans contributed millions, but these funds were looted.

Censorship machinery

After the collapse of Twitter_Kenya, a new breed of criminals and lowlifes took over. They reported all accounts that did not follow the pussified narrative.

Top on the list were bloggers critical of the government and corporates engaging in criminal activities such as Safaricom Plc.

In 2018, powerful @C_NyakundiH account was suspended.

“Samsung had been targeting Kenya as its base to build an assembly plant for the Eastern African region and a top government official asked for a $10m parting kickback for the license forcing them to move to Ethiopia. One governor asked for a $10m kickback – an amount that was larger than the intended capital of the proposed investment,” – Kenyan Economic Analyst Tony Watima.

Cyprian Nyakundi’s Twitter account was coincidentally suspended on the same day Twitter executives Ramone Martin and Adrian Ciesielski visited the country. The two attended a Safaricom sponsored Blaze event in Mombasa and then proceeded to Standard Media Group through an invite from Carole Kimutai, a former staffer at Tuko, one of the many blogs that had filed fake DMCA claims against Nyakundi’s Twitter account.

Then the storm followed, many influencers some of whom depended on their Twitter account for livelihoods got theirs suspended as well. This trended on Twitter under the hashtag #TwitterCleanupKE.

  3. Why Twitter Kenya Shut Down Their Account

The powerful cartel for reporting accounts have been fought hard and by sheer goodness triumphing over evil, their house of cards is collapsing.

Beginning with the collapse of WPP Scan Group support after the firm’s CEO was ousted, Safaricom Plc doesn’t have a voice anymore on Twitter, if it does, it is a confusing, croaking and irritating one.

People like Carole Kimutai would rather bootlick colonial masters by revamping a low circulation newspaper to include a colonial emblem but online, they don’t have impact, they have been reduced to begging Kenyans for handouts in the form of pay walls.

This is the price we all pay for corruption (see Watima’s quote in the article about Samsung)

Kenya is the land of the much spoken about Konza Technopolis, but the sheer corruption has made a person like Jack to avoid it.

Jack was planning to spend some two years in Ethiopia before Covid-19 pandemic struck.

He avoided Kenya which is full of cartels, bad governance and petty politics.

He did right and for that, he has escaped the bad PR that comes with Kenya.

Am glad, the corporate Nairobi Cartel lost.
