On Monday morning commuters around the city had to walk to their work stations after City Hall announced a ban on matatus entering the CBD.
Photos and videos of Kenyans flocking to work went viral and the online community was boiling with anger after the premature decision which many felt wasn’t well thought out before it was made official.
Frustrated Kenyans took on to social media to take their anger out on Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and although some reactions were hilarious, some of them didn’t have very nice words for Mr Governor.
Sonko is exactly the people the setbooks in high-school warned us about

From Ngara to town its chaotic, one lane of the road has human traffic ingine ni traffic ya magari. Sonko opposed Kidero when he tried to remove PSVs from town mkaona yeye ni tosha mkampea kura. Now see effects of effects of voting using ur rectums. Mtaibiwa usiku mpate adabu. pic.twitter.com/TeY1gACoJ0

Mike Sonko has decided that he doesn't want a second term through Matatu CBD ban, Sakaja goes to court to make it look sexy because he has his eyes on Nairobi gubernatorial, the " trekkors" are now saying sakaja is good. No that's an opportunist .Reject #MatatuCBDBan

MADNESS!#MatatuCBDBan has been prematurely implemented. You cannot ban Matatus from accessing Nairobi CBD without a well developed mass transit system within the CBD. Did Mike Sonko consider the disabled, the sick not to mention the great distance between different bus stations? pic.twitter.com/yP0bRGGClc
