ROT AT COUNCIL OF LEGAL EDUCATION.

Crooked Dr. Jacob Kariuki Gakeri
I write to you as a helpless student at the Kenyan School of Law, who is one of the over five hundred students who URGENTLY & deservedly need your help.

We were registering for the 2019, November Bar examination(Advocates Training Program exams), but unfortunately most of us could not raise the required examination fees(45K) within the registration timelines, and so we officially sought an extension of the registration deadline, both individually & collectively through letters and email correspondences addressed to the Council of Legal Education(the examining body) CEO, Dr. Jacob Kariuki Gakeri much earlier, prior to the deadline.

Registration window period was opened on the 2ND of September, 2019 and it closed on the 30TH of September, 2019. Obviously, majority of us are from poor families and we could not raise the required Kshs.45K within 28 days. Fortunately, nearly all of us got the said money between a period of 1ST of October and 4TH of October 2019, but the CEO, Dr. Jacob Kariuki Gakeri has blatantly, vehemently, arrogantly and rudely refused to extend the deadline, casually saying that “45K is such a small amount of money, that cannot and should not be raised beyond a month”.

He thus insists that we should wait until next year July or November to register. You see, that’s so unfair, because some of us, have been in the system since 2015, being failed consistently only on one or two units, and we have been preparing for these exams, and so there is no justification for DENYING us an opportunity for late registration.

In any case, these exams will begin on 12TH, next month. The list of registered candidates will be printed on 1ST next month and examination cards will be printed by 3RD next month.

So realistically speaking, there is no justification for refusing to extend registration even for only 2 days, because even in Universities all over Kenya, a good example is UoN where the same CEO, Dr.Jacob K.Gakeri lectures at, usually do late registration and extension of deadline. Remeber, registration is conducted electronically/ it is computerized and thus saves time and is so convenient.

Even the list and examination cards which are to be printed, are computer generated and so there is no question about time wastage, because registration is NOT manual. There are three cartels from the same ethnic community who have turned the Council of Legal Education into a prison for students, namely;
(1) Dr. Jacob Kariuki Gakeri- the CEO of the Council of Legal Education.
(2) Leah Macharia- Examination Officer and Chief Administrator.
(3) Justus Waithaka- Senior Records & Registration Officer.

These are the three cartel members who are exclusively concerned with the registration of students, custody and safety of their marks and details. They do  conspire to frustrate the poor students, while favoring politicians and the moneyed families, whose children are students here, or those whom they have intimate relationships with.

The CEO, Dr. Gakeri is so inaccessible and for you to meet him, a student must have booked at least one month in advance and that’s the case with Justus Waithaka and Leah Macharia. They have FORCEFULLY made their vernacular the “official” language at the CLE offices. When you have an issue, you want resolved, the first thing they ask you, is your surname.

KINDLY PLEASE, do an EXPOSE’ blog for us, as soon as you get this email,  so that Kenyans on social media can exert their pressure on the CLE to register us please.

Students are being victimized here so badly and nobody is ready, prepared and willing to speak out for fear that he/she can be identified and marked for mass failure.  Kindly, in your blog, bring the attention of the President and Education CS, Prof. Magoha over this, so that they can act appropriately.
