Micah Kigen, the offending politician, experienced the wrath of the members of the chat group who forced him to apologise to the deceased’s family as he had hurt them with his shameful act.

India

In 2012, three Indian parliamentarians were caught sharing porn during a parliamentary session. News channels broadcast footage showing Karnataka state Minister for Cooperation Laxman Savadi sharing a porn clip with his colleague CC Patil, the minister for women and child development, while sitting in the state assembly.

The phone was Krishna Palemar’s, the state Minister for Ports, Science and Technology.

Coming from a conservative party, the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), they quit after this.

United Kingdom (UK)

In the United, Kingdom, around 160 requests a day were made in late 2017 to access pornography websites from computers within the Houses of Parliament, Britain’s Press Association (PA) reported.

A total of 24 473 attempts were made in June, the same year, from devices connected to the parliamentary network, according to data obtained by a PA Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

The parliamentary internet network is used by MPs, Lords in the upper house and their staff.

Authorities claimed most attempts are not deliberate and point to a decrease in recent years.

Parliament blocked 113 208 attempts in 2016, down from 213 020 the previous year.

“All pornographic websites are blocked by parliament’s computer network,” a parliamentary spokesperson told PA.

Ukraine

In July, 2016, a Ukrainian member of parliament was caught watching porn during one of the latest sessions of parliament.

The unrepentant politician, Vyacheslav Konstantinovsky, a former playboy, who represented the city of Kiev, admitted his bizarre actions, but added “at least I wasn’t playing Pokemon Go”.

He made an official statement on social media about the incident saying that he got tired of the “circus that was going on in the hall” and simply followed one of the suggested links while browsing on his phone.

He said: “I admit that the location for watching this type of content was inappropriate.”

Egypt

Two years ago, an Egyptian member of parliament sent a porn video to the WhatsApp Group consisting of 256 other MPs.

The unnamed MP apologised over the incident.
