I hope this email finds you well.
I do not want to call you a Lord of Impunity but let me take you through some very important facts that are happening under your watch yet everything seems okay.
- Managers at Gateway have gone for their annual leaves when things seem tougher yet the people doing the real job are yet to even smell leave. Should our families suffer because of a ‘New System’ we have sick parents, relatives and even old fellas back at home some of them have even died but because of the ‘bond’ we cannot even be there to give them a sendoff. When you are on that bed getting your massage or Jacuzzi do you ever think of some of us who have not even had time with our immediate families let alone the extended one.
- At imports whatever is going on is mediocre business. Why do we have interns in numbers to manage customers yet the business is to clear shipments. i.e. if you are a customer and you get your shipment within a max of 72hrs what business do you have calling DHL. We need more declarants to frame entries as opposed to the interns who look all nice and pretty for the managers that I don’t want to mention now. The more declarants we have the better we stand at reducing the bond numbers.
- The approach of some of Consolata and Abdallah is seriously wanting if at all that place need a change then it must start with their attitude towards juniors. You admit that you consulted NPTS checkpoints for almost a year before you got it right and you keep mentioning Abdallah as you point man. Why is it that at ISD staff are treated like secondary employees…this year alone we have seen uncalled for reshuffles simply because the managers feel that they are too cool to allow people grow and learn. You have employed people at ISD yet the warehouse is short stuffed and we are seriously suffering. At exports a shift is operates by 4-6 people including a supervisor why is it in imports a shift is run by only 2 personnel with no supervisor.
- Why would you employ people and with great impunity become the untouchables with instructions from yourself. We have seen people you have brought do things at their convenience and comfort leaving managers helpless and unable to control fully their team. I don’t want to mention names but u know at the gateway the changes that have come with the people you have God Fathered, talks to people like he is some Ass. MD even refusing to work at night. If truly u knew what it takes to work at night you would not accept to work under such arrangments…. there is a reason it is called a SHIFT just in case you don’t know.
- You keep telling us you were retrenched 4 times or so….do you think it adds value to us…HELL NO!!! Just know that there were people better qualified than you to be the MD DHL KE but there was something outstanding in you that made the difference…we need equal opportunities to grow and discover the difference in us. Remember that we will suffer today but not forever, you will fire some of us but you will not fire everyone…Just that same way you keep yapping that you can get people to do the job with half the pay please remember that there is someone who is better at the job you hold with a quarter of your pay.
- Last but not least remember we are never all goings to be MD’s, Managers or Supervisors but one thing that you should know is that WE ARE NOT CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD IRREGARDLESS and that’s why we have the different opportunities in life…we all don’t have masters or degrees not because we can’t but maybe because that’s God’s plan.
