The Central Organization Trade Union (Cotu) boss Mzee Francis Atwoli yesterday accused the DP William Ruto of undermining President Uhuru Kenyatta and infringing upon his mandate.
The trade Unionist turned politician, joined other Kieleweke politicians in condemning the attacks on the president and the first family. Atwoli said it was not only against African culture but also the worst form of disrespect.
Turning a deaf to belittling comments his colleagues in Tangtanga have been throwing at the DP, Atwoli said the country may erupt into chaos if actions are not taken against the DP and his cronies with foul mouth.
Atwoli spoke at his Ildamat home in Kajiado County when he urged the Deputy President William Ruto to go slow ‘on his attacks’ against the president.
”We have heard the Deputy President said that he will not attack President Uhuru Kenyatta directly, but the people who are abusing the Head of State are his foot soldiers, then what’s the difference?” Atwoli posed.
He called on NCIC to move with speed against Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ngeno and all the other leaders engaging in hate speech and threatening the cohesion of the nation.
Atwoli also called upon other leaders to shun insults and abusive language irrespective of their political sides ahead of the 2022 elections.
”This behavior shows very well that William Ruto is not likely to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, we are very intelligent, and we know very well that he is working behind the scenes to attack Uhuru,” he said
The KANU life member also alleged that Ruto is working day and night to tarnish the good work done by the administration that he is part of.
”Ruto and his foot soldiers will not be allowed to disrespect the president, he should also be arrested and arraigned in a court of law,” Atwoli said.
