I am the latest victim of “Modern” Coast mistreatment and negligence, please find details below.
On 2nd Jan 2020, I called Modern Coast representatives through +254709897000, from there official website. I spoke to a lady who reserved seat number B12.for bus Registration No KCN 109M, for 3rd Jan 2020 Busia to Mombasa I later called to confirm on reservation and message retriggering from their side. I made payment through M-PESA from the popup.
During boarding from Busia my ticket was confirmed, and we started our journey. On reaching Kisumu at 7:00 PM I was told to alight the bus by a bespectacled staff because I made a mistake of not booking the bus physically and I was sitting on a seat reserved for an associate driver. Which I declined to get off.
They left and had a discussion outside the bus, after like 10mins a bespectacled staff, who wanted to throw me out and had spoken harshly, came back. He informed me that we cannot leave like because of NTSA and there was a bus that was leaving at 9 PM the same day
I alighted and directed to wait at their offices.
After a while, I informed there was no bus going to Mombasa the same day. I was instructed that I have two options to get a refund or wait for a bus that will leave at 3 am the next day.
After contemplating, I had to settle for a refund, left with no way of travelling because all busses Mombasa bound including the one I was on had already left.
The company cost me time and inconveniences. Please raise this to warn other passengers
