In September 2016, cnyakundi.com highlighted a story of one Sahan Africa Limited which operates as Sahan Research and Sahan Foundation.
The chilling email sent by the whistleblower had damning allegations about the above firm.
Coincidentally, it is exactly 5 years and 1 day since Sahan was accused of disappearing a Somali refugee who had refused to work with them in its intelligence-gathering circles.
Today, this article is a call to attention to what happened recently in Nairobi.
Abdiwahab Sheikh, a prominent Somali Kenyan scholar and a political commentator in the wider East/Horn of Africa region was abducted in central Nairobi, Kenya on 8th Sep 2021.
Abdiwahab was a critic of Sahan Research, a controversial institute based in Nairobi.
On July 20th 2021, Mr Abdiwahab expressed concerns over his life. He specifically mentioned Sahan.
“A source with links with the foreign spy agency, Sahan, asked me to “be cautious.” “Sahan is going to target you,” he told me. I know @SahanResearch‘s dirty business. @dibjir wouldn’t have incited chaos in 3 HOA nations without EU support. Save this, just in case,” Abdiwahab wrote.
The marauding and untamed gang of criminals that walk in Kenya have always had the luxury to kill and go scot-free.
The abduction of Abdiwahab is just one of those that we have witnessed in recent times.
There is a company called Sahan Africa Limited, which also operates Sahan Research and Sahan Foundation. Its key work is intelligence collection. But it doesn’t have the permission to carry out intelligence work in Kenya and therefore it would be considered as conducting espionage in the country. The company is headed by Matthew Bryden, the former head of the UN Monitoring Group on Somalia and Eritrea. This is his telephone number in case you need to carry out your due diligence, 0733378226 and 0711102315 (find picture attached) – Message from 2016, september 9th
Another businessman Bashir Mahmoud, went missing in May 2021, his charred Range Rover registration number KCQ 007P was found in Ngong Forest.
He was later discovered murdered, his body dumped at Kerugoya Mortuary. Authorities were quick to label him a terrorist guarantor. We may never know the truth.
A strange thing however happened, when detectives found his car, they left to get a towing vehicle, but when they came back, the remains of the Range Rover was missing.

Extrajudicial killings such as these and those of Jacob Juma, Hon George Muchai, and others, paint Kenya in a bad light.
Why has the government allowed Sahan Africa Limited to operate with impunity in Kenya?
