Instagram And The Illusion Of Success: How Bitches Flaunted Their Holiday Trips

CAPTION: Popular travel instagrammer Kui Kamau could not let the streets of Instagram breathe in peace because she was in Dubai for New Year’s.

Mombasa and Dubai are turning out to be an instagrammers idea of a perfect paradise. Many micro-bloggers took to IG to flaunt this illusion of wealth, by posting videos of their slamming holidays, conspicuously hiding their male companions.

But is travelling to Mombasa or Dubai, a measure of success? Well only for a crowd that has been conditioned by the inferior practices by Maina Kageni.

Here’s the thing; If you’re really doing well, Mombasa and Dubai are so cliché. Those are places which excite villagers like Dennis Okari and Betty Kyalo.

If you’re really doing well, then do it big! And Africa has some of the most exotic destinations like Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, or Casablanca in Morocco. Just off West Africa, there’s a Spanish island called Tenerife, which is famed for its carnival and artistic culture.

If you’re really a baller, travel to Cuba on holiday and sample the culture and music. If you’re the so-called “A-list” Kenyan celebrity, then let’s see you travelling to Europe and not crushing at your friends house in England. We want to see you in Venice, The South of France or Prague. Somewhere out of your comfort zone. Go skiing in the Alps.

Go hard or go home!

Believe it or not, there are actually Kenyans who’ve been to such excursions. Low-key.

But if you can’t afford to take your family on an exotic holiday, kindly refrain from antagonising your followers with this illusion of success of a basic holiday.

There’s a reason why you probably don’t know the aforementioned destinations in the first place. One, the economy is not doing well and homesteads slashed entertainment budgets this Christmas season. Secondly, our parents conditioned us to abscond physical activity. They taught us that during weekends, the only plan is to take us on outings, where we played on bouncing castles, drunk a lot of soda, as they drunk alcohol.

Our parents incubated the current drinking culture we are witnessing in the country.

The truth is that nobody is doing well in this horrible economy, occasioned by the massive theft and plunder by the Jubilee Government.

And the more we analyse corruption trends, the more it’s becoming clear to us that it’s Uhuru Kenyatta who is looting the most, and William Ruto is only getting 10% of the earnings, in this case, if 200 Billion is embezzled by Kenyatta, Ruto gets 20 Billion, which is still collosal enough to fund his activities and harambee’s.

But because Ruto is reckless and Uhuru is managed by a “professional” back-end of his brother and expatriates, they are able to mask their corruption.

I mean can it be a coincidence that Brookside Dairy’s roads are being tarmacked during his presidency? It’s it a coincidence that the 12km entry road to Great Rift Valley Lodge was tarmacked during his presidency? Is it possible that his former St. Mary’s classmates and current employees, the Gethi family, built the Rosslyn Riviera during Uhuru’s presidency?

CAPTION: Ben Gethi whose brother Peter Gethi works at Brookside, is a former classmate to Uhuru. The family built the Rosslyn Riviera yet a few years ago they were broke, selling parcels of land for survival.

Where is all this money suddenly coming from?

Those influencers posting photos of their 3rd rate holidays to Dubai and Mombasa can join the wave of consciousness by having a political stand on issues.

Flaunting “good life” in the midst of poverty is just wrong, as you’re not inspiring anyone. Be about something. Not just promoting consumerism.

Tourism numbers are at their lowest in history, to the point that hotels are lowering rates so as to encourage domestic tourists. But our intervention is not going to keep those hotels afloat.

The truth is, if Uhuru Kenyatta gets a second term, Kenya is going to start deteriorating to the levels of Congo, Cameroon, and the likes, where there is no middle-class. Everyone aspires to live and work in France because of diminished opportunities especially for the women.

Those shitty countries have no tourists and the only mzungu’s who go there, are NGO’s or those stealing their mineral wealth.

The only women you find in the club there are whores, unlike in Kenya where we have corporate women who drive their own cars. But this number of empowered women is diminishing as even the so-called “top” joint in Nairobi Kiza, has been invaded by whores, posturing as decent women.

The economy has taken a downturn, and it’s up to the influencers to stop glorifying consumerism and be alert to the political climate.

Otherwise what’s the use of flaunting your mediocre holidays footed by some married man who’s probably stolen Government coffers, yet 99% of your followers can’t afford the same?

Stay Woke!
