A Twitter user by the name Purity (@ndutaSs) has narrated the story of how Kasarani based pastor Ken Gomeri tried to forcefully have sex with her in a hotel room in Nyeri.
Young girls have been coming out and narrating their horrible ordeals in the hands of the infamous pastor who has been linked with Kenyan gospel singer Ringtone Apoko.
The two have been accused of organizing sexual orgies with young girls that Gomeri used to preach to in high schools.
Here is Purity’s full story and a phone conversation below.
“So, I’m going to do a thread of our (me and two of my friends) experience with Pastor Ken Gomeri. Please note that I’m not trying to discredit him or get him arrested, I’m just coming out with this story because our silence may have enabled him to take advantage of more girls.
So, June 2016, my friends (2 ex-choxxerians) and I go to TRM to buy dinner. If pastor Ken regularly went to your highschool then you definitely understand the respect we have for him. He’s that one pastor who’d come to preach and no one would sleep during service.
He also coached our hockey team sometimes so we have a good relationship. So we see him, we’re excited, we hug and talk for a while, he offers to buy us dinner. During dinner he tells us about how there are things that are being said about him online that are bothering him.
The first red light was on the same night, he called and asked to come over to our house at around midnight, but, it’s Pasi, we didn’t think much about it. Next morning, we leave, so it’s Ken, his friend (man) and three of us girls, going to Nyeri in his infamous Subaru.
On our way to Nyeri, his friend stopped to buy alcohol, which was weird but it’s his friend who was drinking, not him, so, again, ignored the red light. We watched the tournament, went to have dinner at night, he offered to buy us alcohol too but we declined.
We decided to spend the night in Nyeri because it was really late at night. Now that’s where we started getting scared. He insisted that we’ll all sleep in one room because he didn’t have the money I guess. It had two beds so we thought it would be us girls one bed, boys together.
Remember we’re 18 & 19 years old, broke, we didn’t tell our parents where we were going, we’re with this ‘pastor’ who’s insisting we share a hotel room, at this point we’re literally almost crying. So we get to the room and he says, “circumcised men don’t share the same bed”.
We complain, argue and resist but he insists, he can’t share a bed with a man, us girls have to choose who will sleep with which guy.
His friend sleeps with my friend, I sleep with him and my other friend. At this point we’re very aware something is wrong.
We all sleep in our jeans and belts and sweaters but now, he wants to cuddle, and he starts the “you’re not supposed to sleep with jeans” talk. They start talking about fivesomes, orgies, the orgy he watched in Mombasa, it’s clear that him & his friend have done this before.
He started complaining about how turned on and hard he was, trying to touch us inappropriately, he was visibly getting angry and one of my friends was doing the silent crying. If you’re a woman I’m sure you’ve been in this kind of uncomfortable situation.
At some point on that long night I remembered he told us about something being said about him online and I knew now that it was of this nature, I searched his name, saw an article that detailed his indiscretions and forwarded it to my friends.
Next morning he continued trying to have sex with us, touching is inappropriately, talking about sex and how disappointed he was. We drove back up to Nairobi, I was dropped off first but two of my friends went with him, he was supposed to drop them off in Roysambu.
So, they ask if he remembers their house in Roysambu. He says yes and it’s agreed that he’s taking them home. Next thing they knew, they were in Kasarani. He insists they need to eat supper atleast. On getting to his place, it’s packed with people (his team that does mission).
This put them at ease. But then in 5 minutes everyone leaves. This just leaves them, another male and him. He gives excuse after excuse as to why they shouldn’t leave. That they need to sleep over. When they finally put their foot down he go so upset.
The other male in the house ended up taking them home.
One of my friends continued talking to him for the next few weeks, that’s when the Ringtone encounter happened, I’m not at liberty to tell her story but hopefully she’ll talk about it when she’s ready.
He has unparalleled access to young girls through preaching in high schools, his holiday camp for teenagers (Badilika Camp) and his hockey coaching.
Kids buy his motivational books and t-shirts.
His Instagram name is Ken Gomeri, his camp name is Badilika Fest (also has an IG page).”
