How CS Rashida Echesa Walked Three Rogue Journalists Into The Gallows

Loading...

On Wednesday, police arrested three Nairobi based journalists after controversial nude photos of Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala went viral. The Senator was tipped that the three were behind the rapidly circulating photos and immediately called the police.

When the fire became too hot, the three journalists decided to come clean and revealed that the they were working under instructions from the failed Sports CS Rashid Echesa.

The three,  David Ndolo, Stafford Ondego and Alex Njue, were allegedly working under the instructions of Echesa who should have been fired by now.

According to the journalists, the nude photos initially belonged to Mr Echesa who panicked and in a desperate attempt to salvage the situation, he immediately instructed them to photoshop Mr Malala’s face onto the photos before leaking them back on the internet.

This isn’t the first time Rashid Echesa is making it to the news thanks to his mediocrity. A while back, the underperforming cabinet secretary accused Raila Odinga of planning to get him sacked. For a man handling such an integral ministry, sideshows like these shouldn’t be among his priorities. If Kenya had a functional system, crooks like Mr Echesa would have been fired a long time ago.
