Impala Club is at a crossroads; bedevilled by scandals after scandals.
Cnyakundi.com has learnt of allegations of land grab involving 23 acres that belong to members.
The club whose membership fee is above Sh20,000 for single members, is scheduled to hold an Annual General Meeting on Saturday. It is expected to be very risky as tensions have already run high.
The AGM slated for March this year was cancelled by court after a member, Mr Sammy Gichuki Waigwa moved to court to challenge it on several accounts, one of which was that the delay in availing the auditor’s report.
“the AGM by the first respondent slated for 27.3.2021 be deemed as null and void as the Auditor’s Report and the Statements for the year ended 318t December, 2020 were only availed on 23.3.2021”, Mr Gichuki told the court in an affidavit.
Mr Gichuki was also not okay with being denied to vie for the post of Trustee of the Impala Club. A matter in which he informed the court, he was not informed of the reasons for his disqualifications.
“The Electoral Board has without justification refused to abide by the Executive Committee’s final resolution approving the Petitioner to run for Trustee”, he wrote on the Affidavit drawn and filed by S.N Thuku & Associates Advocates.
The membership of the club is also in dire straits as most members are not in good standing.
A Mr Kiarie, who was expelled from Limuru Club, and joined Impala Club, is accused of impregnating a 13 year-old girl.
