There’s immorality everywhere you look in Kenya these days. Because of bribes paid out to Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) board members and senior executives, life in Kenya is on a downward spiral.
For instance Kenyans have for long complained about the calibre of content being aired on Radio Africa’s Classic 105.2FM on a show hosted by Maina Kageni and Churchill Ndambuki. But Communication Authority of Kenya have put their bellies ahead of public interest, and overlooked the toxic content aired by the two public figures, who also pay PSV’s so as to remain locked to their station, leaving passengers without choice but to consume that garbage.
We have also complained how Linus Kaikai has turned NTV into a den of promoting and elevating the socialite culture, whereby the nastiest of whores will be guaranteed airtime at a channel purportedly owned by a spiritual leader of the Ismaily Muslims. Aga Khan is really a glorified conman when you think about it.
We have pointed fingers at Kameme FM and Njogu wa Njoroge for indoctrinating their listeners with scripts drafted by William Kabogo and Uhuru Kenyatta, aimed at spreading hate-speech and fuelling pro-Kikuyu supremacy sentiment.
But who listens to us? Nobody. Everyone is busy stealing from the very institutions that were created to secure public interest and oversee good practice in the various industries.
Like members of the Kikuyu community who vote for the biggest crooks because of their financial standing irrespective of how they acquired their money, Kenyan Government officials have neglected their duties and opted to accept cheap bribes so as to build flats.
Meaning that young babies are copying what they see at home, in movies, and ofcourse listen to what their domestic workers tell them.
Kenyan Parents living their miserable lives, spend more time in the bar drinking alcohol or with their simple friends driving out of town for ruracio’s and golf, while neglecting their very duties as parents.
Parents especially the young ones should know that this isn’t the time to live the life you’ve always dreamed of, after years of going through the mediocre 8-4-4 system that largely deprived you off a social or sporting exposure, but to instead give your children what your parents couldn’t afford to provide.
Now that you have some little money, this isn’t the time to go on trips with friends, to screw as many women, or play golf. Reinvest in your children so that the money you’re wasting on alcohol can elevate our children to higher intellectual levels, than what 8-4-4 confined us to.
When you listen to the mediocrity on mainstream media, when you see how journalists are bribed by corporates to fabricate fictitious reports all for the sake of short-term expediency, when you see idiots like Wallace Kantai and Terryanne Chebet selling off their souls so as to portray corrupt corporate heads as saints, then know that we as a country are lost.
We have become a society where we have glamourised thieves, without a second thought of questioning their source of money. We have antagonised our intellectuals, meaning that Dennis Itumbi who didn’t clear his first year from not even a university, but an institute that incubates media mediocrity that can be equated to a village polytechnic, gets more airtime than the smartest people in our society.
It is not a coincidence that Kenyans have been dumbed-down by mainstream media, yet our intellectuals and even NGO’s have remained silent even as the orchestrated scheme to nurture anti-intellecualism thrives.
Fate will judge those who could have spoken but opted to remain silent harshly.
