A passenger traveling from Nairobi to Kisumu had to put up with an unsafe bus in which the management didn’t offer satisfactory answers.
Road safety is supposed to be adhered to by all vehicles in Kenya especially the Public Service Vehicles (PSV).
There’s no point of advertising a business, doing it great for a couple of years then destroying it, because ‘you now have clients’ and they will come even when the standards are down.
A good customer service is paramount and any business must guard it with all their strength.
Here below, the poet and novelist (Burt Award for African Young Adult Literature Winner) Adipo Sidang narrates how he was mistreated in a unroadworthy Guardian Bus registration number KCG 420P.
Attention traffic police, IGP Hillary Mutyambai; Guardian Buses, as in all PSVs, must be subjected to occasional checks to make sure that their buses are fit for carrying humans.
This is insane and unbelievable.
The Bus KCG 420P, VIP version, must not be allowed to carry passengers from Kisumu to Nairobi today; arrest the bus and the driver and only release it when the seat-belt is repaired.
Traveling from Nairobi to Kisumu in a Guardian Angel bus KCG 420 P. I booked their version of VIP. It was what was available. Before we leave Nairobi, I discover my seat-belt ain’t working. I seek help from the driver.
He dismisses me saying “he doesn’t know mambo ya seat-belt” I insist but then he chooses to ignore me. I ask him whether he knows the danger the bus company puts its customers; instead starts to drive. I’m forced to go back to my sit shocked at the discourtesy.
I wonder how many other passengers in the bus and in other Guardian Angel buses are forced to travel without belting up because the safety belts aren’t just maintained/serviced. A bus that claims to be your guardian angel has one arrogant driver, no co-driver, no customer care no; and the most surprising thing – it’s Twitter Account is locked which stops you from lodging complaints directly to them.
In Nakuru, I tried speaking to the driver again but it appears it’s their policy to disrespect clients. It’s utterly abhorring; I paid for the services!
